Hotel Serwir was built by Joseph Serwir and officially opened in November 1966 by Adhémar, count d’Alcantara de Querrieu, former Minister of Trade. After a long period, Joseph Serwir decided to pass the torch to both of his sons Luc and Marc. The brothers have run Hotel Serwir till 1999, until Eddy Vermeersch, founder of the Stars of Flanders Hospitality Group (formerly known as Flanders Hotel Holding) acquired the place. When he passed away in 2014, his eldest son Serge Vermeersch became in charge of the daily running of the Hotel.
Stars of Flanders is the reflection of a family owned Hospitality Group managed by brothers Dimitri and Serge Vermeersch. The Holding manages since decades the hotel, restaurant and event location Auberge du Pêcheur based in Sint-Martens-Latem. Furthermore the Gosset Hotel in Groot-Bijgaarden, Bed & Breakfast brasserie Charl’s in Knokke-Heist and caterer Dîner Privé are also members of the Group.
The number of rooms increased from 37 to 55 bedrooms since Stars of Flanders took over Hotel Serwir. An extension at the backside of the hotel was built in 2017, which accommodates 24 top-notch luxury Superior Rooms.
Throughout the years, Hotel Serwir had the honour to welcome serval remarkable guests, such as politicians, managing directors of multinationals, sportsmen and a number of popstars from the music and film industry. Since many years Hotel Serwir became the meeting point in the middle of the Waasland region. It’s professional exploitation, remarkable facilities, spacious parking and unique location are some of the assets that made the term: Hotel Serwir.
50 years after Hotel Serwir’ launch, it is more than ever ready for a new lustrum.
